I have literally just written this review on trip advisor you can shorten it if you like.... Just back from a night at Castle Durrow and what a delight it was, it is simply stunning! We arrived on a beautiful sunny day and spent an hour having lunch on the lavender and rose lined terrace until we could stick the heat no more. We then had a wander around this historic castle that is decorated with style and taste - its full of beautiful furniture, artwork, decorative plasterwork, chandeliers, fresh flowers and little touches like at night there are loads of candles lighting in coloured glasses that sparkle and add even more glamour. Our large first floor bedroom overlooked the rear garden with a four poster bed, antique furniture and tall windows that flooded the room with the most amazing light. Dinner in the gold dining room was delicious and the staff are really nice - they never rush you... one little thing I ordered a cheese board instead of dessert but nobody explained what type of cheese it was so I wasn't sure if it was local or just irish cheeses. We then retired to the most beautiful little room off reception with hand painted silk panels and an amazing painted plasterwork ceiling where we sank into lovely dark green velvet comfy chairs for a while before heading to the bar. It was a Sunday night so it was very pleasant and relaxing, after a very restful night we had a delicious breakfast before wandering around the gardens again. Castle Durrow is a gem in County Laois - it is a credit to its owners who take such care of it, their attention to detail is incredible. We will definitely be returning to it. And jsut to add I love your hotel - it is simply beautiful

Best dining experience of our vacation, best overall value. Amazing picturesque house and grounds. Overall sleeping experience could improve slightly by offering fluffier pillows, and room fan. Outside of that, a superb experience. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time in Castle Durrow. The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. It is a very family friendly hotel with beautiful gardens. The owners were very welcoming and the powder room treatments were great! We will definitely be back.

The food was excellent, the staff in all areas were very attentive and helpful. The gardens and loop walk were beautiful. We would recommend castle durrow to our family and friends.
